MEDICATIONS IN SCHOOL
 

Over-the-counter, non-prescription medications
such as medicated cough drops, cough syrup,
decongestants etc. require a written order from your
child’s doctor.
All OTC’s must be kept in the nurse’s
office, not in the classroom.

 


Prescription medication taken for 10 days or less

such as antibiotics do not require a doctor’s order, but
must be sent to school in the original pharmacy
labeled container.
Prescription medication sent to
school in an envelope or plastic bag will not be given.

 

 

Long-term or emergency prescription medication
such as inhalers, epi-pens and Psychotropic medication
require a written doctor’s order and must be sent
in the original pharmacy labeled container.

 

 

These Department of Public Health regulations are in place to keep you child safe. Your cooperation in the safe dispensing of medication is greatly appreciated!
